0x800CCC80 - Authentication Methods unsupported by server

  1. Tools => Account Settings => Double click the account => More Settings => Outgoing Server => 'Log on to incoming mail server before sending mail'

0x800CCC00 - Authentication did not load

  1. Try closing and restarting OE.
  2. If you still cannot connect, wait 20 minutes for a server reset of your account and then try again.
  3. Try setting up a second identity and see if it works. This could be a possible corruption of your user account in OE.

0x800CCC03 - User already connected

  1. You may be logged in on another machine. Close all connections on all machines and wait 20 minutes to check again.
  2. Some mail servers will not recognize an improper disconnection in some instances. Your account may be "Poplocked". You can either wait for the "poplock" to time out, or have someone shell into the mail server and kill the mail task running on your account. This normally only happens with accounts that have UNIX shells.
  3. If you are not logged in on another machine or poplocked, then someone may be using/downloading from your account, or something is wrong with your account.

  1. Can you get web pages? If so you may have the wrong mail server typed in your account or the server may be down.
  2. If you cannot get web pages perform No Traffic troubleshooting.

0x800CCC0A - Message download incomplete

  1. This is a possible corruption of the pop3uidl file. Close your internet connection and all programs. Search for the file pop3uidl and delete it. Reconnect and it should work.
  2. Repeat step 1 with a reboot before you check your mail again.
  3. You may have a corrupt or a very large file attachment on the mail server. Large file attachments, mail that are missing headers, or mail that do not conform to the mail RFC's can cause this. You can check this by logging in via Webmail.

0x800CCC0B - Server or maildrop is busy

  1. Try to retreive email about once every 5 minutes. Alternatively, call your ISP help desk to ensure the server hasn't crashed.
  2. You may be logged in on another machine. Close all connections on all machines and wait 20 minutes to check again.
  3. Some mail servers will not recognize an improper disconnection in some instances. Your account may be "Poplocked".   1. Can you get web pages? If so you may have the wrong mail server typed in your account or the server may be down.

  3. Check if the Server settings are correct in Accounts.
  4. Check for any Virus Scanners or Firewalls installed
    • For Norton products
      • Go to Norton Connectivity Fix
      • Click the Run It Now button in STEP 2 - Fix most common connectivity issues with Norton products
      • After running the downloaded program reboot the machine and try the email program again.
    • For other Virus Scanners or Firewalls try disabling it completely
    • Otherwise try uninstalling the Virus Scanners or Firewall program
      • NOTE: Do not leave customer with no security programs installed.

0x800CCC0E - Cannot connect to server

  1. The modem may have disconnected or LAN connectivity may have been lost. You may need to perform DSL dropout troubleshooting, dialup dropout troubleshooting or modem lockup troubleshooting.
  2. Antivirus or firewall software is a common cause of this error code. Try disabling any installed antivirus or firewall software.

  1. Recheck account information, make sure account is not case sensitive (most are), close OE and restart computer before attempting to re-connect. Also set up a different identity and see if OE will allow logon from a different identity with the same information.
  2. Ensure that secure password authentication is disabled.
  3. Make sure your account is still active with the ISP and that the ISP is not having an e-mail outage.
