Adding a post is as simple as typing in what you want it to say.
To add a new post, Click Add New on the left hand menu, under Posts.

The only two things that are necessary for a post, is the Title, and the content.
Other features that can be set:
- Categories
- Useful when sorting multiple posts
- Find out more about creating Categories.
- Tags
- Used when searching for a Post
- Featured image
- Used for banners and thumbnails
- Format
- Determines different styles set by the theme
Click Screen Options in the top right hand corner, to see other features that can be enabled.
Click the image to the right now to see what it looks like. The options are explained below;

- Excerpt
- Custom description when post appears in a banner or a list
- Will use the text on the post if this is left blank.
- Custom Fields
- Handy if you are developing your own plugins
- May be best to use categories instead
- Slug
- Used when linking directly to the post
- This will be created automatically when the post is saved
- Author
- You can set the 'Author' of the post to another user, if multiple people have their own Wordpress Login details.
- Send Trackbacks
- Tackbacks are a way of notifying other blog websites when they are being linked to.
- Discussion
- Set whether you wish to allow Trackbacks or Comments on this post.

Once all the features have been set that you want to set, either Save the post as a Draft, or choose the date you want the post to appear on your site, and click Publish.
Posts will only appear to visitors to your site once they are published. Leave the date set to Immediately if you would like to Post to be viewable straight away.
To edit a post, either view the post, and click Edit Post along the top menu, or view all Posts by clicking Posts in WordPress, then clicking Editunderneath the post in question. You can change any/all of the settings that you could change when creating the post, and even set it back to a draft, or change the date it is supposed to be viewable online.
