To change your email account to use SMTP Authentication in Outlook 2007, follow the instructions below:

  • From within Outlook 2007, click on the Tools Menu.
    • Select Account Settings



  • Click on your email account, so that it is highlighted Blue
    • Click the Change... button to edit your current settings.

  • Confirm you are using a MediaCloud outgoing server
    • This will either be mail.yourdomain.com.au or mail.mediacloud.net.au
    • If your outgoing server is configured to your ISP you DO NOT require outbound authentication.
    • Click the More Settings... button to access advanced settings.



  • Select the Outgoing Server tab from the top of the Menu
    • Tick My outgoing server (SMTP) required authentication
    • Leave the first option selected
    • Click OK
    • Proceed to click Next, Finish & finally Close to complete changes.
